In Windows 10, users can use a full-screen Start menu (like the start menu in tablet mode), or in a traditional way in which you can resize the Start menu by clicking and dragging the Start menu’s edges according to your need. Here’s how to Enable or Disable Full-Screen Start Menu in Windows 10’s.
Depending on how you have your Start Menu configured, a default Start menu looks something like this. As expected, it shows the Start menu in the left bottom corner as default, you can “pin” any apps to the start menu and even send it easily to the taskbar.

Configuring the Start menu in Settings
To configure either you like to see the full-screen Start menu in mode or not, You’ll need to make some changes in Windows personalization Settings.
First, open “Settings” by clicking the “Start” menu and selecting the “Gear” icon on the left. (You can also press Windows+I.)
After Settings open, click “Personalization” on the main screen.
When Personalization opens, select “Start” from the sidebar to open the “Start” settings.
When Start menu settings open, locate the switch labeled “Use Start Full Screen” to use the Start menu in a Full-Screen mode, set this switch to “On”. If you don’t want the Start menu to cover the entire screen when you open it in desktop mode, set this switch to “off”.
Note: this setting does not affect the full-screen Start menu in tablet mode. While your PC is in tablet mode, it will always show a full-screen Start menu.
You can also disable turn off tablet mode completely in Settings > System > Tablet.
Resize the Start menu by clicking and dragging the Start menu’s edges.
To resize the menu according to your need, simply drag the Start menu from the corner. Click on the windows logo, Start menu will appear, like this.
Easily hold the start menu from any side to resize it according to your need.
You don’t need to use a full-screen Start menu to get more room for shortcuts. You can easily resize the Start menu by Clicking and dragging the Start menu’s edges.
