I’ve been doing SEO since 2006, back when we argued about keyword density and reciprocal links. So when a plugin I’ve used for years relaunches as Rank Math AI, I read the fine print before I get excited. This one is worth a closer look.
What Rank Math AI actually launched
Rank Math has released Rank Math AI. It’s less a brand-new product than a bundle of things that used to live apart:
- Content AI, formerly its own standalone product, covers ideation, drafting, and optimization.
- AI Link Genius handles internal linking. Think broken links and orphan pages, the unglamorous problems that quietly drag down a lot of sites.
- AI Visibility shows whether your brand appears in answers from AI platforms, and how it’s described when it does.
Rank Math is pitching the package as covering both classic SEO and GEO (generative engine optimization). I’d usually roll my eyes at yet another acronym, but the pairing makes sense. Both disciplines now feed the same goal: being found and being trusted.
The Gemini addition
The most interesting change is that AI Visibility now tracks Google Gemini as well as ChatGPT. Rank Math says more platforms are coming, though it hasn’t said which.
A few practical details:
- You can run your tracked prompts daily, weekly, or monthly.
- It supports more than 30 languages, which matters for anyone working multilingual or international sites.
- This data sits separately from Rank Math’s normal search ranking reports.
Why I think this matters
Your rank tracker will tell you that you’re sitting at position three for a keyword. It won’t tell you whether ChatGPT or Gemini mentions your brand when someone asks a question in your space, or whether the answer gets you right. AI-generated answers are taking up more room across search and discovery, so that’s a real blind spot.
It’s a different kind of visibility. You can rank well and never be named in an AI answer. You can also be named in one without ranking anywhere near the top. Rankings alone don’t capture either case, and that gap is what this feature is trying to fill.
I’d still treat any new tracking data with some caution. Prompt-based monitoring is a young discipline, and AI answers vary from run to run. Watch the trends over weeks, not single snapshots, before you make big decisions.
Availability
Rank Math AI and the expanded AI Visibility feature are live now. Rank Math has been around since 2018 and says millions of websites run its WordPress plugin, so a lot of site owners are about to see this in their dashboards.
If you’re already on Rank Math, it’s worth setting up a handful of brand and category prompts and watching them for a month or two. If you’re not, this won’t be a reason to switch on its own, but it shows where the tooling is heading.
